Our RV Realities!

As first time RVers there are just a number of realities we are experiencing!

Reality - There is SO much to learn!

We are on a crash course! We had some wonderful resources to help us navigate this big step (thanks Cathy and Joe); we did lots of research; we read, read and read more; we watched videos, we took the RV Basics course from Passport America, we talked to helpful RVers (thanks Diedre and Alex). Our operating manual case that's 10 inches thick.  We have come to realize we will always be learning

Reality - You have to be organized!

We have checklists and lists for everything.  Setting up "camp",  breaking down "camp", how to connect/disconnect the car, our maintenance log, our mileage log, what to bring, where to plan to get gas (and we use lots of it!)

Reality - Patience is essential!

....and not something we have mastered yet.  Stuff happens all the time even with the best plans AND maneuvering this big thing can be challenging.  Lucky for us, fellow RVers (thanks Diedre and Alex) STRONGLY suggested we buy walkie talkies so we AREN'T the couple at the RV parking screaming at each other when we are parking and setting up! We have to keep the volume down on the walkie talkies!  We certainly have ourmoments....

Reality - You have to be planful!

Despite the desire to just hit the road and drive, many great RV parks get booked for RVs our size.  We have mapped our entire summer trip on TripWizard and booked our places to stay. We are just better with having a plan (surprise surprise).
