Acadia National Park July 17, 2017 by Richele Soja In 1919, it was the 1st National Park east of the Missippi. The 41 acres were designed, built and donated by John D. Rockefeller Jr. There are 17 mountain peaks, beautiful coastlines, lakes, ponds and salt marshes. The Park Loop Road 27 miles of amazing views!!! An lovely garden (est. 1961) with all native plants from the region. The Carraige Trails The original entrance to Acadia. There are 45 miles of carriage roads that are for horses, people and bikes only. OK.. so very hilly and a great "heart pumper" on your bike, I can assure you!
