Crater Lake National Park

We are back on the road and everyone (and everything on the RV) is healthy........We had a beautiful day to visit Crater Lake National Park as our last hurrah in Oregon. The smoke cleared, it cooled off and it was a gorgeous day to see this park!  The blue, blue water is amazing.
The Facts:  Crater Lake was created after a massive volcanic eruption 7,700 years ago.  The mountain peak that was once there, fell in on itself and created a crater (a Caldera in geological terms).  Centuries of snow and rain filled the lake.  It's 1,943 feet deep - and is the deepest lake in the US.

Crater Lake Lodge would be the place to stay.....but I think you have to book about a year in advance.

Oregon was Beautiful!  However, we have one other issue.....Bob was denied access to the Junior Ranger Beaver Program.  He JUST missed the age limit!

Off to the California Coast and the Redwood Forest!
